MARCH 12TH – #POLAWALK AT DALLAS ARBORETUM
Join other Polaroid and instant-film fans for an Instant Film Society #PolaWalk at The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden for the garden’s annual “Dallas Blooms” – the largest floral festival in the Southwest. This year, Dallas Blooms returns with the theme “Flower Power,” and the Texas-sized extravaganza features more than 500,000 spring blooming bulbs.
We’ll meet-up at 11 a.m., and the #PolaWalk will start at 11:30 a.m. (unless arriving by DART, then anticipate spending 10 to 15 minutes finding a parking spot and getting to the entrance). Be there by 11:30 a.m. to participate in the Scavenger Hunt. We’ll meet up again at 1:30 p.m. and entries will be collected at that time (No. 34 on the map), and the winners will be announced by 2 p.m. [Entries will be returned at 2 p.m. at No. 34 on the map.] Instant film prizes will be awarded for the for the top two entries.
But, be mindful, as the gardens have a few “guidelines” for photographers — instant or otherwise:
• Please do not stand or walk in garden beds or climb on trees or shrubs.
• Do not pick flowers.
• Do not take or harm any of the wildlife (this includes feeding squirrels).
• Please do not play in the water features.
